Rosann (Lucie Lelaurain )

Biography

Mixing her taste for contemporary music
and traditional modal music, the
multi-instrumentalist Rosann (Lucie Lelaurain)
unveils a cinematic and modern music weaving links between traditional tunes of yesterday and compositions of today.
Originally playing on a classical flute, she specializes in Middle Eastern music by learning the duduk, but also by researching
the adaptation of sound and ornament on her original instrument (which normally expresses itself in so-called tonal and
classical music). Her musical identity is forged by her education in French traditional music, and by her many travels.
Born in France in 1994, she discovers very early a passion for traditional music and their dances.
After a first conservatory in Toulouse in actual music, she decides to travel in Turkey to be trained in the
modal music of the Middle East. She worked there with many masters and after two years of learning, she
decided to return to Europe and joined the Codarts Conservatory in Turkish music (she still studies there today)

Lucie is now working on three main projects:
Hamraaz a duo of Iranian music, mixing composition and traditional music.

She is working on her own composition with the project "Rosann" and an album is planned for 2024.

She also always had a passion for visual arts, she created last year a project of animated film "Rosann & Nerouj" in collaboration with the illustrator Mylene Seguy, and is working on the realization of video clip in stop motion.
